I am using this blog space to share some powerful information that can change your life and the lives of many people you know.

By the time you have read this first paragraph, someone in the US will have been diagnosed with diabetes. And when you have finished watching a one hour TV show, at least 8 people in the US will have died from diabetes. It is an epidemic of hugh proportions.

These are some powerful statistics and you can significantly help those who have already been diagnosed with diabetes by becoming a Certified Diabetes Motivational Coach. No experience is required. Just a desire or passion to help others. You can make a difference.

This training will give you more than just training by a diabetic on how to help people with diabetes, you will also acquire methods and tools that can help you in many other ways. If it’s time to take charge of your own life as well as help others, than this is something you need to do.

Want to know how many you can help? Start asking family, friends and co-workers how many diabetics they know. You will be amazed at how many people are in need of your trained services.

I am so excited to sponsor Devin Hastings to come to Wilmington with his course to become a Diabetes Motivational Coach. You can make a difference. There

A lot of my practice is focused on releasing fears and phobias, a subject that I love to talk about. Most fears and/or phobias can be released in just a few sessions. There has to be an ISE (Initial Sensitizing Event). That would be the experience of the initial trauma that set up the fear. Let me say here that fear is the single most powerful agent known to man. A deep seated fear can paralyze a person, making them unable to function in a situation. Using hypnosis and some NLP ( Neuro Linguistic Programming) techniques, it is possible to release a fear, desensitizing the emotional response and reframing the original experience. To help you understand it, let me tell you about a woman who came to me with a very strong fear of heights. It was difficult for her to use an escalator, climb down a single flight of stairs or even use a step ladder. After some initial preliminary work we did some regression therapy, opening up a memory of the first time she felt this fear. She was able to recall being a very young child, around 3 years old, and she was with an older child, on a roof top. She lived in a large city and her family lived in a high rise building. As the memory progressed she recalls hearing a loud banging noise, which was the sound of the door being thrown open by her mother on a desperate search to find her child. Up until that moment, the little girl was having a wonderful time, running around very freely chasing and being chased by the older child. Suddenly her mother was there and she was a bit hysterical, screaming at the older child and grabbing our young client up in an embrace, as if she was rescuing her from a freight train or something. At the moment, the subconscious mind said, “Uh oh – there must be something very, very bad about being up high, it’s making my mother act like a crazy woman. I must be very careful to never be up high.” Please note here that my client had not been aware of this memory as it happened when she was so young. We were able to desensitize her emotion of that moment and reframe the experience. It was actually her mother’s fear, not hers. She sent me an e-mail several months later, describing how her kitchen light bulb had blown out. She went next door and borrowed a step ladder and climbed up to change it before she realized that the fear had vanished! She tells how she got a good look at the top of her refrigerator while up there and saw how much dust and dirt had accumulated on it because it was too high for her to see it before. It is amazing how powerful the reframing process can be.

Today, January 4 is World Hypnotism Day and I made a commitment to myself to start my blog today. I believe that a blog should contain valuable information, or at least information that is useful in some way. I thought I would start out with some definitions of what hypnosis or what the trance state is like. There are so many misconceptions about hypnosis and hypnotherapy. Hypnosis is not a state of deep sleep but one of altered consciousness. But what does it feel like? How does it work? Is hypnosis real? Yes, it’s real. Exactly how it works is still under investigation. A classic definition of hypnosis is “A highly suggestible altered state of awareness. There is a feeling of well-being, an ability to recall past events and the acceptance of new ideas that are not in conflict with personal values. What does all that mean? It means that suggestions made in hypnosis can have a powerful effect but you cannot be made to do things that you do not want to do. Stage hypnotists typically work with people who want to be entertaining and so they are able to release their inhibitions and bark like a dog or cluck like a chicken. Those things are not usually the reason for visiting a hypnotherapist. I could probably get you to do those things if you wanted me to, but I could not get you to go to the nearby gas station, rob it and bring me back the money. You would simply refuse to do that.

The hypnotic state is like meditation, where the body is relaxed but the mind has heightened awareness. The ability to vocalize is limited in deeper states and the limbs feel leaden or light, tingly or somewhat numb. A persons perception of time is also distorted where an hour might seem like just a few minutes. It is common to be in a state of trance and hear everything the hypnotist is saying and then to drift in and out. Most people can be hypnotized and different people go into hypnosis in different ways. Part of the hypnotist’s job is to identify what approach will work best for each individual. Those who have trouble trusting the hypnotist or the process may take more time to go into a hypnotic state and may not enjoy as many benefits. There is a common idea that those with ‘a strong will’ cannot be hypnotized. It has been shown that intelligent people can be hypnotized faster because they have greater access to their imagination, and can follow instructions. In fact, those with an extremely low intelligence cannot be hypnotized at all. The prerequisites for hypnosis are being of at least average intelligence, being willing (wanting to experience it), and able to follow directions. That last is probably the most important. If you trust me and do everything I tell you to do, then we will have a highly successful experience.
I have been treating for smoking and weight loss with a very high success rate for a number of years. I also specialize in age regression and behavior adjustments, including releasing fears and phobias. I hope to continue this blog with accounts of experiences and successes as they occur in the future. Check back on this site on Mondays for updates. Thanks for tuning in. Nancy
